Melania Knauss, Slovenian super-model choose a Dior wedding gown for her wedding. It was the first time that a bride was the cover model for Vogue. She sure was a beautiful bride. Melania's Galliano designed gown made headline news because it weighed 60 pounds, had 98 yards of beautiful white satin and was encrusted with more than 1500 crystal rhinestones, a 13-foot train, and a 16-foot veil. The gown was estimated to be over $2,00,000 but it is reported that the bride paid much less because of all the favorable publicity that the gown caused. Melania required 4 fitting sessions one of which lasted for four hours. The most stunning features are the gathering of the fabric. She changed at her reception to a Vera Wang dress. 
J- Crew is coming out with some really stunning wedding gowns, competing with some of the formost bridal designers in the industry. From what I have observed, J-Crew uses NICER material than some of the best designers in the business such as raw silks for their wedding gown line. It is very rare for a bridal manufacture to use raw silk, as it is one of the more expensive materials to use. Some European designers use raw silk, but from my experience it is almost never seen. Most companies use a silk-satan blend or satan. Anu Pam, is one company I can recall using Raw Silk, the same with St Pucchi, and Ian Stuart. I am sure many more designers use this material, just to say it is rare to see. If you have ever seen how beautiful raw silk looks, consider it for your gown as it is the most beautiful in my opinion.
