What you are about to read is a true love story. It is about a man who married his terminally ill high school sweetheart. Because of his great love and commitment, this girl was able to experience a beautiful wedding before passing away.

Her name is Katie Kirkpatrick, 21 yrs old. Next to her is her fiancée, Nick, 23.
This picture was taken prior to their wedding January 11th, 2005 . Katie has terminal cancer and spends hours in chemotherapy.
Here Nick awaits while she finishes one of the sessions..

Even in pain and dealing with her organs shutting down, with the help of morphine, Katie took care of every single wedding planning.
Her dress had to be adjusted several times due to Katie's constant weight loss.

An expected guest was her oxygen tank. Katie had to use it during the ceremony and reception.
The other couple in this picture are Nick's parents, very emotional with the wedding and of course to see their son marrying the girl he fell in love when he was an adolescent.

Katie, in a wheel chair listening to her husband and friends singing to her.

In the middle of the party Katie had to rest for a bit and catch her breath. The pain doesn't allow her to stand for long period of time.

Katie died 5 days after her wedding. To see a fragile woman dress as bride with a beautiful smile makes you think... happiness is always there within reach, no matter how long it lasts.....lets enjoy life and don't live a complicated life. Life is too short. Work as if it was your first day, forgive as soon as possible, love without boundaries, laugh without control, and never stop smiling even if you don't know the reason.

Katie Kirkpatrick did marry just in time. Now, God rest her soul.
As I came upon this story, I was stressing about my dress not fitting, work, a water leak in my basement…Tears came into my eyes as I read this story and saw the beautiful photographs. Certainly puts life into perspective…A good reminder not to take things for granted.
You know, I stumbled on this from a link off of facebook- I have been in a relationship with a girl for working on 3 years and sometimes I wonder why I do it- she is very hard to work with… After reading and looking at this- I must admit, it really has made me reevaluate my life and where I am with her. This guy, and that girl, were perfect for each other- and death didn’t even stop them from living life. It makes me so mad to now look at my life, and see that who I have, not facing death, still wont live hers… And she has the time Katie didn’t have.
I started crying when i read this ,may god rest her soul.Love is everything in life, even the death can not stop real love.I wish for every 2 who love eachother wont ever leave each other for any reason. They have to fight for there love and for there future togeter.
I cried while I was reading this post. Both of them are lucky to have each other. You can actually see how much love these guys have and just how happy everyone is. Thank you for sharing. This is truly an inspiring story.
